Life, Love and Peaches

Wow, it's been a few days since I last posted something. Where to begin? It seems like each day this week has been crazy busy. Even on my days off, it has been crazy. Life is crazy, love is jacked up, and peaches, they're fuzzy.

It's interesting how life just takes you over. It seems like a race that you can't hold your own in. It's lap 150 out of 200, you're a lap down in the middle of the pack. What are you going to do?

I often times feel like I'm a lap down. Busted quarter panel, been in the pits a few times during caution laps. Race ends, what now? Load up and get ready for next week. That's the thing, one race can't let you down. Just like one day shouldn't let you down. Even if day after day you feel like you can't get there, you still suit up and race. Paul says this in Philippians, "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Michael Waltrip is the little brother of a NASCAR great, Darrell Waltrip. Darrell was a 3 time Cup champ, with 84 wins. Michael's career has been as stellar, but Michael still goes out there and races. He has had many difficult races, but still looks for that win.
February 18, 2001, Daytona Beach Florida, the last lap for Michael Waltrip seemed to be the greatest ever. His team mate behind him, his owner coaching them along the way. The thing is, his owner and dear friend, Dale Earnhardt was driving behind Michael in third place. Then it happened. His owner and dear friend was involved in a crash. That day, February 18, 2001, Dale Earnhardt passed away.

Did Michael quit from there? No, even though he still hasn't had a stellar career, he still races looking for that win, that goal.

Thus should be life. Don't dwell on what brings you down, but press on towards your goal. Live, Love and eat Peaches.
